Who can apply
Assessment considers income, assets, family size, location and children in college, generally including both biological parents. Students are expected to contribute at least $1,950 annually under the policy; unusual circumstances can be reviewed.

What the funding covers
Meets 100% of calculated need under college policies; the package may combine grants, student loans and work-study. Cost assessment includes tuition, fees, room/board, books, supplies, personal costs and transport.

Documents to prepare
The guidance reviewed requests signed 2025 parent/student tax returns and schedules, plus W-2s where applicable. Non-filers provide the verification worksheet; business owners provide business returns/schedules. Separated-parent households provide both sides’ records; foreign income needs translated returns/employer statements. Independent applicants normally omit parent data unless supported by parents and include spouse data if applicable. Track the admissions-portal checklist.

How to apply
Use the applicant-type checklist: CSS Profile code 3957 for institutional aid, FAFSA code 002224 for the applicable domestic federal-aid route and signed household income records through IDOC. International students have separate linked instructions and do not submit FAFSA.

Keeping your funding
Financial support continues for four years with the required applications. Most students reapply annually; international students do not have to reapply.
