GPA & cumulative GPA calculator

Use the grade points assigned by your institution.

Calculator inputs

Numeric grade points only. These scales do not imply a country or institution’s letter-grade rules. Exclude non-GPA courses according to your policy.

Build your academic record

Keep Year 1, add Year 2 later, and track each semester. Your current course rows will become Year 1, Semester 1.

Include a previous GPA

Only include credits that are NOT already listed in any year or semester. Use the same scale. A rounded previous GPA produces an estimate.

Plan a target GPA

Uses all completed GPA credits entered above, including previous GPA history. Future credits are additional courses on the same scale. Exclude them from the completed course list.

Enter a target and future credits to plan your next courses.

Required future GPA = [target × (completed + future credits) − current GPA × completed credits] ÷ future credits. Uses unrounded calculated values; a rounded previous GPA makes this an estimate. Repeat replacements and institutional rounding rules are not applied.

Σ (grade points × credits) ÷ Σ credits

Each course contributes its grade points multiplied by its eligible credits. A previous GPA is combined using its credits, rather than averaging the two GPAs equally.

This term: (4 × 3 + 3 × 4) ÷ 7 = 3.43
