3. International Major Entrance Scholarship

The Internal Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES) is awarded to new students who have an excellent academic background and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University of British Columbia.

They awarded the scholarship during the first year and is renewable for three more years. The number of awards given varies annually.

To be considered for the Internal Major Entrance Scholarship at UBC, applicants must be first-year students at UBC who got admitted after high school. They must also be international students currently on a study visa. Applicants must also show academic excellence prior to their admission at UBC.

4. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship

Award value: $50,000 per year

Awarding institution: Canadian Government

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship (VCGS) is another scholarship initiative by the Canadian Government and is named after the first Governor-General of Canada.

The VCGS program helps Canadian universities to attract talented doctoral applicants from different parts of the world. Each scholar receives a generous sum of $50,000 every year for 3 years of their doctorate program at any Canadian University.

5. Trudeau Scholarships

9. Schulich Medicine and Dentistry Scholarship

Award value: $112,000 (Medicine), $44,800 (Dentistry)

Target program: Bachelors

Awarding institution: University of Waterloo

The Schulich scholarship for medicine and Dentistry is awarded to first-year students, studying medicine or dentistry at the University of Waterloo.

The Schulich Medicine and Dentistry award targets brilliant students who demonstrate significant academic achievement and financial need. Someone renews annually the scholarship for 4 years. The renewal depends on the candidate’s ability to meet the necessary academic requirements. Recipients must also demonstrate genuine financial need to be eligible for renewal.
